The Regional Economic Development Program (RED) works towards increasing regional economic competitiveness in a comprehensive approach that integrates the public and the private sector, as well as civil society.
RED is cooperation program between the governments of the Republic of Indonesia and the Federal Republic of Germany. It is jointly implemented by the National Planning and Development Agency (BAPPENAS) and the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Technische Zusammenarbeit (GTZ).

Six districts and one municipality in Central Java (Surakarta City, District of Boyolali, Sukoharjo, Karanganyar, Wonogiri, Sragen, and Klaten) agreed to continue the cooperation in regional economic development with GTZ RED program. The objectives of the cooperation are to increase the regional economic competitiveness through strengthening the regional management, strengthening the regional marketing, enabling business environment and promoting the SMEs within the area, which well known as SUBOSUKAWONOSRATEN or Solo Raya.
On the same event which took place on August 20, 2009 in Lor In Hotel, Solo, there were also another MoU signing between GTZ and ASITA and also with MICE association in Solo to implement the development of value chain of MICE tourism in Solo. |
