The Regional Economic Development Program (RED) works towards increasing regional economic competitiveness in a comprehensive approach that integrates the public and the private sector, as well as civil society.
RED is cooperation program between the governments of the Republic of Indonesia and the Federal Republic of Germany. It is jointly implemented by the National Planning and Development Agency (BAPPENAS) and the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Technische Zusammenarbeit (GTZ).

The governor hoped that GTZ could assist to develop the regions especially its human resources and technology. The Governor also hoped that the cooperation between SINGBEBAS will influence other regions in West Kalimantan to synergize its potential in developing the regional economy. The event was taken place in Palapa Function Hall in Pasir Panjang Indah, Singkawang on August 11, 2009 and attended by representatives from government, associations, regional chambers of commerce, university, SMEs, Cooperatives and Regional Development Bank. Mr. Abdul Razaq, from KADIN Singkawang, commented on the cooperation that it will bridge the public and private sectors to develop the economic potential of the region. |
